OpenResty, also called 「ngx_openresty」, is a web application server based on the Nginx core, it also contains lot of 3rd party Nginx modules and most of its system dependencies. OpenResty is not an Nginx fork, it’s just a software bundle. It has been mostly maintained by Yichun Zhang�6�0 and since 2011 it has been supported by CloudFlare.nginx

devel/gmake security/openssl devel/pcre
Download OpenResty
Go to http://openresty.org/ and get the lastest version. At this time, this is the last version:
wget http://openresty.org/download/ngx_openresty-1.5.8.1.tar.gz.
Untar, build and install OpenResty
tar xzvf ngx_openresty-1.5.8.1.tar.gz cd ngx_openresty-1.5.8.1/ ./configure --with-luajit make make install
Available configure options:
./configure --prefix=/opt/openresty --with-luajit --without-http_redis2_module --with-http_iconv_module --with-http_postgres_module -j2 --help to see more options
