微軟宣佈 Edge 瀏覽器將切換至 Chromium 內核

簡述

據微軟官方 blog的消息，windows 的默認瀏覽器 Edge將切換內核至 Chromium，而且微軟將秉承開源精神，在將來更多的爲 Chromium項目貢獻代碼。

微軟具體說了什麼？

原文以下：

For the past few years, Microsoft has meaningfully increased participation in the open source software (OSS) community, becoming one of the world’s largest supporters of OSS projects. Today we’re announcing that we intend to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge on the desktop to create better web compatibility for our customers and less fragmentation of the web for all web developers.

As part of this, we intend to become a significant contributor to the Chromium project, in a way that can make not just Microsoft Edge — but other browsers as well — better on both PCs and other devices.

對於普通用戶，這意味着什麼？

對於普通用戶，一些以前沒有適配過 edge 的頁面會有更好的用戶體驗。

若是大家使用的網頁以前就有適配 ie、edge 的話，更換內核後頁面並不會有什麼差異。

對於 Web 開發者， 這意味着什麼？

意味着更好的前端開發體驗，雖然 Edge 相對於 IE 已有至關大的進步。可是仍然存在各類適配問題。加上 IE 並無被徹底摒棄。Edge 的出現不只沒有下降前端開發人員適配 IE 的痛苦。反而又新增了一個新的須要適配的瀏覽器。

Edge 切換至 Chromium 內核意味着前端開發人員能減小許多的適配煩惱。

微軟邀請開發者加入 edge 開發者社區，安裝預覽版的 Edge 並以此測試本身的網頁。

而且微軟昨天剛剛建立了新的 github repository 用於放置 Microsoft Edge 相關文檔。預計後續新版本內核的 Edge 可能也會放置於此 Repository， 你們不妨關注一下:

微軟做爲一個互聯網行業的巨頭，以往的腳步都是偏沉緩的。

但現在咱們能感覺到它慢慢變的輕盈起來：更多的參與到開源事業（2018 年的 github contributor 冠軍）、建立出廣受好評的開源項目（VS Code，TypeScript 等）、收購 Github、切換 Edge 內核。
