Citrix UniversalPrinting Server安裝及配置

 

UPS(UniversalPrinting Server)的安裝很簡單，和Delivery Controller安裝到一塊兒，打開Citrix Xenapp&Desktop的安裝文件，點擊右下角的安裝選項

安裝完成後，能夠將在Citrix Xenapp&Desktop安裝文件中找UPSClient的安裝文件，拷到客戶機安裝

VDA就不須要了

打開GPO

a：Configure Citrix Universal Print Server policy    

With Universal Print Server      Enabled

Use citrix server to configure the following Citrix policy settings.

Setting	Description
Universal Print Server enable	Enables or disables the Universal            Print Server feature. This Citrix Computer policy setting applies to            Organizational Units (OUs) containing XenApp and XenDesktop hosts.            Set: Enabled with fallback to Windows native remote            printing
Universal Print Server print data            stream (CGP) port	Specifies the TCP port number used            by the Universal Print Server print data stream CGP (Common Gateway            Protocol) listener. This Citrix Computer policy setting applies to            OUs containing the print server. Valid values: 1-65535. Default:            7229 (Set : Default)
Universal Print Server web service            (HTTP/SOAP) port	Specifies the TCP port number used            by the Universal Print Server listener for incoming HTTP/SOAP            requests. This Citrix Computer policy setting must specify the same            value for the OUs containing the network print server, plus the            XenApp and XenDesktop hosts. Valid values: 0-65535. Default =            8080(Set :             Default)

 

Note: The above setting can be found in the policy      editor under

Computer Configuration-> Citrix Policies -> Setting Tab      ->categories = Printing

 

Next Step, Go to User Configuration -> Citrix Policies -> Click      "Setting " Tab

Under "Printing" Categories, select the below

a.    Auto-create Client printers = Do not Auto-create      client printers

b.    Client Printer redirection = Allowed

c.    Default Printer = Set default printer to the      client's main printer Select Default

d.    Direct connections to print servers = Disable

e.    Printer driver mapping and compatibility =      Default

f.     Retained and Restored client printers =      Allowed

g.    Session Printers = Click Add, Provide the Printer      UNC Path, i.e. path to the shared Printer [from Windows Print      Server].Figure as below

 

h.    Universal Printer Driver Usage =Use universal      printing only

 

 

With Universal Print Server      Disabled

Use Xen App 7.6 server to configure the following Citrix policy      settings.

 

Setting	Description

b：How to Make Sure UPS is Configured Sucessfully       

 

To check if the Job sent via the Citrix      Xen App 7.6 server to the Citrix UPS print server is an EMF or Raw job,      datatype should show      as 「NT EMF」 (HP UPD/Discrete drivers) after setting UPS policy      (Universal Printer Driver Usage =Use universal printing only).      

1. On the Print Server Right Click on a queue and select Printer      PropertiesAdvance Check Keep Printed documents->Click OK

2. Fire a Print from the Client OS using the above session queue

3. On Print Server, Right Click on the same queue and select Open the      Print Queue. The Job is listed. Right Click on the Job and select      Properties, go to General Tab, the datatype is listed as NT EMF. Note, If      it is a raw data, please check the configuration in Xen App server if same      HP UPD driver [same name] is installed.
