other than

　　意爲"不一樣於，非，除……以外"。

　　The actor performed other than perfectly.演員的表演遠非盡善盡美。

　　意爲"極其，超出，超出……的"。

　　They were more than pleased to help.他們很是願意幫忙。

　　①rather than與would, had等詞連用，表主觀願望，意爲"寧願……而不肯……"，後面接不帶to的動詞不定式。

　　He had rather go than stay to be interviewed.他寧願走，也不肯留下來接受採訪。

　　Rather than travelby air, I'd prefer a week on a big liner.我寧願乘一週的巨型班輪，也不肯坐飛機。

　　②rather than也能夠鏈接與謂語動詞時態一致的動詞形式，表示客觀事實，而不是主觀願望，解釋爲"是……而不是……"。
