MIPS Technologies actively supports, develops and improves the Linux kernel for the MIPS® architecture, in particular MIPS Technologies cores, the MIPS32®, microMIPS™ and MIPS64® ISAs and associated ASEs, the Malta™ and SEAD-3™ platforms. Recent enhancements have included virtual SMP support for the MT (Multi-threading) ASE.php
MIPS Technologies contributes directly to the Linux-MIPS repository, and via that to kernel.org. Currently, the most up-to-date kernel supporting the MIPS cores are available from www.linux-mips.org .
MIPS has entered into a strategic relationship with TimeSys to distribute a version of the development system including kernel, libraries, tools and userland, for the Malta platform with a complimentary, introductory subscription to the LinuxLink service from TimeSys . The latest Malta builds information is available on the TimeSys LinuxLink website.
