Ubuntu 16.04 install NVDIA display driver

1. search and download the driver

http://www.nvidia.cn/Download/

2. vim /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

append this lines to the file

blacklist vga16fb
blacklist nouveau
blacklist rivafb
blacklist rivatv
blacklist nvdiafb

3. Ctrl+Alt+F1

sudo service lightdm stop

 

sudo sh NVIDA-*.run

 

sudo service lightdm start

 

cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version
